”Den dubbla tystnaden” är den sjunde delen i Mari Jungstedts succéserie om kriminalkommissarie Anders Knutas och kollegan Karin Jacobsson som löser mord i den gotländska idyllen.

Sent i juli ger några vänner från ett villaområde i Visby sig av på sin traditionella semestertripp.
Genom åren har de delat allt från barnpassning till motionspass och festmiddagar, bandet mellan dem tycks orubbligt. Den här gången går utfärden mot Bergmanveckan på Fårö, därefter väntar Stora Karlsö där sillgrissleungarna kastar sig från klipporna i tusental.

Men något går snett under resan. Ett sms blir läst av fel person, en kvinna försvinner under en cykeltur, en åldrad man flyter iland i lettiska Ventspils på andra sidan Östersjön. Kriminalpolisens undersökningar tyder på att vännerna döljer mörka hemligheter för varandra.
