"Here comes Skippy", is based on a true story as I remember it, about an adult teen who was mentally handicapped and lived along the train tracks in a very small and very rural community in West Virginia. He lived with Edward, his dad/uncle,(so the rumor went), and his elderly grandparents, known only as "Granny and Poppy. Skippy always rode his bicycle, wore a sheriff's badge and carried a shinny cap gun on each hip. His innocents would soon teach him the hard way the problems that that could bring. Skippy was harmless as far as I knew and had never hurt anyone. But Skippy was19 years old and naive about everything! Poppy had to keep him on a tight rein, especially sense the state took his sister away some years back. Skippy's naivete and deadly innocents is revealed as it brings forward the tragic climax of this story to a heart felt, tearful, but controversial end.
